Tinnelly
Demolition, a division of John Tinnelly
& Sons Ltd, has been successfully
and safely carrying out major demolition
and dismantling contracts since its
foundation some 40 years ago.
Founded by John Tinnelly in 1959,
the company is still family owned
and professionally managed under the
guidance of Patrick Tinnelly (Snr).
Tinnelly Demolition is based on a
combination of engineering and project
management skills. With over 40 years
of experience, many of it's key personnel
have been employed with the company
for upwards on 20 years.
Investment, experience, continuous
training, and the principals of safety
enshrined in the company ethos, ensures
that Tinnelly Demolition remains the
design teams choice for that "impossible"
job.
All contracts are carried out under
full insurance cover, and adhere to
the standards set out in BS 6187 (2000):
Code of Practice for Demolition.
Selective Demolition
Construction & demolition waste
accounts for up to 80% of the total
waste generated in Ireland each
year.
Even the most simple of buildings
are constructed from a myriad of
materials, which need to be segregated
at the demolition stage if effective
reuse or recycling is to take place.
Tinnelly
Demolition have practised selective
demolition for over forty years and
are committed to reducing the amount
of material sent to landfill.
Facade
Retention
Protecting our heritage is a vital
importance.
Historic buildings that have
outlived their original function
nevertheless dictate the character
the culture of our towns and cities.
Tinnelly
Demolition is experienced in the art
of facade retention, preserving the
unique nature of such buildings for
incorporation into the new project
, while carefully removing the redundant
elements.
Concrete Crushing
To augment their selective demolition
policy, Tinnelly Demolition operates
a mobile concrete crusher to convert
a previously useless waste material
destined for landfill, into a commodity
that can be utilised in new projects.
With
government targets set to recycle
85% of construction and demolition
waste by 2013, it is anticipated that
the company will recycle over 100,000
tonnes annually.
Underpinning
Buildings with shallow or weak foundations
require specialist attention, especially
when adjoining new developments.
The delicate procedure of underpinning,
excavating beneath an existing foundation
to extend and increase it's bearing
capacity, requires expertise and
meticulous planning.
Dismantling
Modern construction techniques compounded
by high land values have created
their own problems when such buildings
are due for demolition. Multi-storey,
city centre developments cannot
be demolished in the traditional
manner. Proximity to adjoining properties
dictates the need for the careful
dismantling of these constructions.
Complex
stadia developments such as Croke
Park and Semple Stadium, Thurls also
require careful and consideration
when redevelopment is required.
Tinnelly Demolition possesses the
necessary engineering and project
managing skills to ensure that these
modern complex structures are deconstructed
without risk to the public or adjoining
property.
Concrete Cutting
& Core Drilling
Forming openings or making alterations
in concrete traditionally involves
high-impact equipment that can have
an adverse effect on the general
public and surrounding property.
Diamond-tipped blade technology
allows for accurate cuts and precision
cores to be formed in all types
of concrete.
Noise, vibration and
dust are minimised when compared
with conventional methods, allowing
demolition and alterations to be
carried out in the most unobtrusive
manner possible.
While dramatically reducing the
time, labour and cost otherwise
required for making good, concrete
cutting and core drilling can often
provide the only feasible solution
in sensitive areas.
