Demolition of Camlough Bridge – Flyover on A1 Bypass

Tinnelly Demolition are going to carryout the complete demolition of the existing road bridge over the Camlough Road on the A1 Newry Bypass in 2009.

TheĀ  A1 Newry bypass road bridge over the Camlough road was demolished over a period of five night possessions. The deck/surfacing was removed from the structure to expose the prestressed concrete beam units used to form main span.

The carriageway on the bridge structure was removed using demolition excavators. Once the carriageway and deck were removed the prestressed concrete beams forming the main span of the bridge which crosses over the Camlough Rd was lifted down using a mobile crane during night possessions of the road.

The demolition of the bridge abutments on either side of the main span were completed during normal working hours.
