Elm Park, Merrion Road, Dublin

The Tinnelly Group have just completed works on a large structural alteration project at Elm Park, Dublin. The works were in 2 major Phases – Phase 1 involved enabling works for the installation of a temporary steel frame structure which retained the building stability during the main demolitions.

For this we performed cores throughout each floor and removal of large sections of roof slab over 2 large areas of the building. We are broke out large portions of 500mm thick basement floor slab to facilitate new pad foundations for the temporary steel structure. Once the steel structure was in place, phase 2 commenced.

Phase 2 involved the complete demolition of 12nr lift shaft cores and 4 main staircore structures from Ground floor to 7th floor. Large sections of 350mm and 400mm thick floor slabs were also removed to facilitate the re-building of new cores. This was a challenging structural alteration project, where The Tinnelly Group were able to prove their experience and ability, completing the works on programme without incident.
