Paradise Street, Oxford City Centre, Oxford, UK

JTS were appointed by McAleer & Rushe to perform the complete demolition of the Cooper Callas building, located in Oxford City Centre.

The works involved soft strip of the structure, extensive asbestos removals and complete demolition of the building. Due to the location of the project and the positioning of the building, the works were delicate and challenging, mainly due to adjoining listed properties, proximity to adjacent rivers and also due to the access routes to and from site being old narrow city streets.

The works were conducted without any issues and within programme and budget.

JTS liaised closely with the Main Contractor and local; authrities to ensure the works progressed with little disruption to the local environment and residents. All stages of the project were carefully planned and scheduled by JTS.

Upper sections of the structure were craned down or demolished with small plant, once the building was reduced sufficiently we then deployed our Liebherr excavators to demolish the remainder.
