The Tinnelly Group performed demolitions, temporary steelwork propping and bulk excavations to the RCSI extension in central Dublin.

Our works involved demolition of the existing carpark structures, then excavation of a deep dig basement adjacent to a former basement. Temporary steelwork propping was also inserted by The Tinnelly Group as the excavations progressed.

The Tinnelly Group excavated downwards with 2nr Liebherr excavators and deployed a long reach machine to retrieve the spoil and bring to ground level for disposal off-site. Once all steelwork was in place and the excavations were complete to the required formation level, The Tinnelly Group then brought in a 150t crane and craned our Excavators out of the basement back to ground level.

The bulk dig also contained different grades of inert and contaminated soil, which The Tinnelly Group managed and transported to the relevant licenced facilities. The Tinnelly Group are fully licenced to handle and transport all types of contaminated soils, and we worked closely with the geotechnical consultant on this project to ensure all the contaminated soils were handled correctly.
